Three million tickets.
64 matches.
32 teams.
450 000 international visitors.
A global television audience of 26 billion viewers.
48 million proud Bafana Bafana supporters.

We’re talking serious soccer. World Cup stuff.

Today, 2 March 2010 is Fly the Flag Day. After reading this I must admit I was a bit confused as to what exactly fly the flag means. It all seems very patriotic and I could picture planes with humongous SA flags trailing behind them. Not quite. It simply means show the flag off in any way you possibly can.

Why? Today marks 100 days to the World Cup.

There are many ways in which you can show your support and enthusiasm as this calls for some serious celebration:

  • Wear your Bafana shirt
  • Blow your vuvuzela
  • Sing or whistle the anthem
  • Have a braai
  • Wag the flag
  • Do the diski dance – this is how:
