When you’re looking for something quick, easy, and yummy to prepare as a treat you can never go wrong with Banana bread!


  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 large or 4 small ripe bananas
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 Tsp. bi-carbonate soda dissolved in 3 dessertspoons of milk or water
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tsp. baking powder


  1. Cream the butter and sugar
  2. Add mashed bananas, flour and baking powder
  3. beat eggs and milk and add to the mixture
  4. Bake in moderate oven (180′C)  for 45min
  5. When cold, slice and spread with butter

Will keep for several days and actually improves with keeping
