Although I’m not too familiar with the game of golf, I do know that a birdie isn’t a fluffy thing that sings melodies along the fairway and that a bogey isn’t a green squishy thing perched at the base of your nostril..well at least in golf terms anyway. So I guess you could say I know just a minuscule more than most. Moving on, I was making tea this morning and glanced over to the back page of The Daily News to see the headline “Rory roars his way to R9.6 million” – referring to Durban’s Rory Sabbatini. I know the name because his father used to be our family doctor way back when and my dad is an avid golfer so I’ve heard him talk very highly of Rory Sabbatini.

Okay so you’re probably wondering what championship he actually won? He won the Byron Nelson Golf Championship in Irving, Texas on Sunday. It was a close finish between him and Brian Davis of England, but he held on for a two-stroke victory. He shot a six-under 64 to finish with a tournament record 19-under 261 for his fifth PGA Tour victory. He now ranks 7th in money leaders on the PGA Tour!  Lekker ne? Good on ya Rors!
